4 teaching items to recommend (January)
This month I'd like to share four things that have been so fun in my studio and I hope you'll like them too!
Enjoy 🙌
It is so refreshing to have a student interested in playing arrangements of classical orchestral music on the piano. Keveren's arrangements are so fulfilling and accessible for the elementary student. My Royal Conservatory Level 2 student is working through this book and loves it.
Andrea and Trevor Dow have found a great way of making piano technique, lead sheets, and sight reading so much fun. My students much prefer going through these books as opposed to the technical requirements books outlined by conservatory curriculums.
⏳ NinGenius App
NinGenius is amazing for teaching music theory in a fun way. There are 7 levels of the app which are represented by belt colours. In each level there are 5 components that one needs to understand before they can take the belt test and progress to the next level. The theory elements include: note names, rhythm, key signatures, accidentals, and music terms.
That’s all for now!
