1:1 Coaching

I offer coaching to piano and theory teachers over Zoom.  Coaching calls are 60 minutes and can be scheduled up to 2 weeks in advance. An email summary of our discussion will be sent to you after the call and, if applicable, will include links to any of the resources we discussed.

How coaching can help self-employed teachers....

Create an Ideal Schedule

Are you looking for more students? We can discuss strategies about how to find the ideal students for your studio.

Or, are you looking to cut-back? Maybe teaching is getting overwhelming but you still want to keep your income. Either way, I will guide you to a solution

Develop an admin strategy

Are you getting frustrated that students are finding loopholes in your policy? Or maybe you don't have a policy? Let's create one together that works for you and your studio so that you alleviate that stress and get a goodnight sleep

Have consistent branding

Branding is important as it creates an image that is uniquely you. Together we can look at your social media presence, your website content, your email copy and make adjustments so that it shows who YOU are.

Set your boundaries

You need to have breaks, vacation time, and days off. Just because you're self-employed doesn't mean that you should be working 12+ hour days or be available every day of the week. Let's talk about mental health, burnout, and longevity in this career.

How coaching can help teachers working at music schools ...

Increase student numbers

Do you want your boss to give you more students? Your ability to retain students and the positive feedback from them is key. Let us discuss strategies to keep your spots filled.

Find portable activities

At home you might have storage space for all your books and activities, but what do you do at a music studio? We'll talk about resources for multi-level activities and books so that you don't have to bring so much stuff with you.

Optimize your breaks

What to do when you have a gap between students? How to be productive with your time away from home. Should you practice? Do lesson planning? Hang out in the lobby?

Set your boundaries

What is your business relationship with the manager of the school? If it exceeds the expectations of teaching students and extends to office admin work or having to lock up the studio, then are you being paid extra for that?

Other topics that we can discuss...

Preparing students for exams

Do you need advice about how the RCM or Conservatory Curriculum exams work? I can explain the whole process and guide you to understand the marking scheme as well.

Teaching online vs in-person

Are you ready to learn more effective ways to teach online? Or, have you never taught online before and are considering it for the first time. We can discuss about equipment and approach.
