Sarah Molenaar

Sarah has performed solo piano recitals at several Ottawa concert venues including Dominion Chalmers United Church, Rideau Park United Church, First Baptist Church, 10,000 Hours Piano Rehearsal Studios, and the Steinway Piano Gallery. In 2018 Sarah released her first solo CD entitled “Hommage à Chopin,” which features pieces highly influenced by Chopin’s compositional style. Her second album was released four years later, in 2022, and is entitled "Undercurrents" which features compositions inspired by water. Recently Sarah released a Christmas album of piano-4-hands repertoire entitled "Carols and Classics"  with her sister Caroleen Molenaar. Sarah was invited in 2020, 2021, and 2023 to perform in masterclasses led by Stephan Sylvestre at the Orford Arts Centre in Quebec, one of the most prestigious music academies in Canada.

In 2014, Sarah completed the Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) in Piano Performance diploma and the Associate of the Canadian Conservatory of Music (ACCM) diploma in Piano Performance with First Class Honours. Previous to these accomplishments, she obtained a Bachelor of Music (BMus), with a specialization in music education, from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Sarah became a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher in 2019 and a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association in 2017. These additional qualifications are due to the successes that her students have had in competitions, festivals, and piano and theory examinations. She has also received certificates for outstanding teaching excellence from the Canadian International Music Competition and the Quebec International Music Competition.
